Tom & Emma Nix House
Altoona, Alabama
While showing at the Covered Bridge Festival in Oneonta, Alabama a young lady with a booth, showing hand stitched quilts, came to my booth and told me she had inherited a place I might like to draw.
On the way home I took the road she said this old home place was located, and found this outstanding well-house. This is a typical T-shaped home built in the early 1900s with barn, well, and other structures that made up a home place. This well was so important that the owner spent a lot of time and money to cover it and make it attractive.
