Cookville, Tennessee
This picture came to be simply because I looked in my rear-view mirror after turning a curve in a farm to market road south of Cookeville, Tennessee. My mirror framed the picture for me. I had been visiting my sister and elected to take the more scenic route south toward home.
Another thing that set me to wondering was the fact that no equipment was housed here. No home site was near the barns either. Without the wood gate in the foreground the barns would suffer for interest. In today’s time how many old wood gates do we have still in use? Not many and this one is patched but in fair shape.
Next time you travel to another town add some time to your trip schedule and take some back roads that are less traveled. This is where you may find shades of our past that bring back early childhood memories. The fast pace of the Freeway is an example of how we chase after life today.
